His Holiness Karekin II comgratulates Armenian people on Victory Day
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a congratulatory message on the Victory Holiday, Day of the NKR Defense Army and Liberation of Shushi.
"May 9 has become one of the dearest and cherished holidays for us. It symbolizes the victories of our people in the Great Patriotic War and Karabakh War.
Our courageous ancestors - prominent commanders and valiant soldiers - fought with full devotion and sacrifice for peace during World War II. With the same patriotic spirit, our sons liberated Shushi, crowning the Karabakh war with victory and establishing our people's right to freedom and independent.
We glorify our Merciful Lord for blessing Armenia and the Armenian people around the world. Let the Almighty help the Armenian people make new achievements and flourish the country's culture and science.
Blessed be the souls of our sons who gave their lives to defend our fatherland.
Let the pride for the motherland always shine in the soul of our nation. Let peace and blessings be upon us and with everyone, today and forever, amen," reads the message of Catholicos Karekin II.
