Stepan Safaryan proposes holding constitutional referendum
"If Serzh Sargsyan really wants to disclose the tragic events of March 1, 2008, he should start with himself and agree to be called to investigation," Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan said while commenting on Serzh Sargsyan's recent instruction to review the probe into the March 2008 events.
Head of Heritage faction Stepan Safaryan says the changes that have begun in Armenia are nothing but an imitation and no actual reform is underway in the country.
"The authorities have decided to make the judicial system independent but this is another imitation and empty talk," Stepan Safaryan told journalists on Friday.
He says the only way out of this situation is holding a constitutional referendum.
Stepan Safaryan says issue of snap elections is not included in the agenda of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) and HAK is simply manipulating the issue to achieve its goals.
Zaruhi Postanjyan, in turn, stressed that Armenia is in a state of emergency which requires extraordinary solutions, including early elections.
