The head of government today received Georgian Ambassador to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili.

Greeting the guest and congratulating him on his appointment, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attached importance to the efforts of the embassies in both countries.

"We have special respect toward the Georgian people. I am pleased to see the maintenance and reinforcement of those high-level political relations," said Tigran Sargsyan.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Tengiz Sharmanashvili mentioned that the historically established friendly relations, which are strengthened thanks to the heads of both states, further oblige the ambassadors of both countries to work for the deepening of those relations.

The interlocutors discussed the process of fulfillment of agreements reached during Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri's visit. The agreements particularly refer to the formation of a common customs service and the order for humanitarian, transit and cargo cars to cross the Armenian-Georgian border.

The head of state mentioned several issues of bilateral interest that will be part of the agenda of the Armenian-Georgian inter-governmental commission's 9th session.
