Organizers of the Armenian-Japanese support action, which was held by the initiative of the International Cultural Bank at Tsitsernakaberd on April 24, say the action was a success.

The purpose of the action entitled "Remembering our pain, understanding that of others" was to express support to the Japanese who suffered from the devastating earthquake that took place on March 11.

The organizers were touched by people's caring attitude and the donations. However, they view the notes left in the book of remembrance placed near the Armenian-Japanese friendship monument as the guarantee of success.

Those who visited Tsitsernakaberd expressed their condolence and support to the Japanese in different languages, even Japanese.

Organizers envisage using proceeds from the action entitled "Support from the Armenian people to the people of Japan" for publishing this book of remembrance and over 700 photos.

There was a total of 450,590 drams collected during the ceremony and organizers had intended to use the proceeds for orphans and children living in orphanages. However, later it was decided to publish a book of remembrance and provide a copy to Serzh Sargsyan, the RA Prime Minister and the NA Chairman.

International Cultural Bank representatives are currently trying to find ways to send the book of remembrance to Japan's emperor as well.
