Serzh Sargsyan's recent statements made Heritage MP Armen Martirosyan conclude that Sargsyan is not going to reveal the consequences of the deaths of the March 2008 victims.

"Serzh Sargssyan dodges responsibility and is attempting to create an illusion that he has no connection to the tragic events," said the Heritage MP.

"Everyone who used weapons against people will be punished. Today the government has no resources to repeat the clashes of March 1. The security forces and law enforcement bodies are in a completely different situation," he noted.

Armen Martirosyan reminded that Heritage is against bloodshed. At the same time he did not exclude that power change is possible in Armenia thanks to mounting public pressure. He stressed the unification of opposition forces as a basic condition for social upheaval.

"All political forces should be given equal footing in this struggle regardless of their influence on the public. In this general struggle all are soldiers who share equal responsibilities," said Martirosyan.

Speaking about the April 28 rally of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Martirosyan said Heritage has not decided on its participation yet.

"Every member of the party is free to take his own decision and attend HAK rallies if he wants," he said.

"I think that all political prisoners will be released during the summer months. They will have served half of their prison term by then," concluded Martirosyan.
