Yerevan Mayor off to Paris
Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan has left for Paris at the invitation of Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoë. The Armenian delegation headed by Karen Karapetyan will participate in a commemorative event dedicated to 96th anniversary of Armenian Genocide.
The Yerevan Mayor is scheduled to meet Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris and President of the International Association of French-speaking Mayors (AIMF), Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France and Mayor of Lyon City Gérard Collomb.
A cooperation agreement between Yerevan and Île-de-France region is planned to be signed on April 26. The agreement provides establishment of mutually beneficial ties in the fields of culture, Francophonie, education, public transport, as well as sustainable development of tourism and heritage preservation.
The Armenian delegates will also hold meetings with representatives of the local Armenian community and business circles, reports the press service of Yerevan Municipality.
