Protest action to be held outside Turkish Embassy in Moscow
The World Armenian Congress (WAC) and the Union of Armenians of Russia" (UAR) officially announce that the annual events in commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims have not been "banned," and cannot be "banned" by the UAR administration.
Commemorative events have been held and will be held throughout Russia at the initiative of the UAR. On April 23, a protest action will be held outside the Turkish Embassy in Moscow which will be followed by a march. On April 24, Armenians of Russia will lay flowers at the memorial of Genocide victims. Besides, a liturgy will be served in Armenian churches of Russia," WAC and UAR said in a statement.
Earlier media outlets reported that the UAR "banned" holding a commemorative event in Krasnodar Krai a federal subject of Russia, located in the Southern Federal District.
