The Yerevan Municipality has again banned the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) from rallying its supporters in Yerevan's Liberty Square on May 4, saying another event will take place in the square on that day.

On April 15 Vahagn Hayotsyan, executive secretary of the Armenian Pan-national Movement (HHSh), submitted to the municipality an application for a rally and subsequent march to be held in Liberty Square from 4p.m. to 11p.m. May 4.
The municipality sanctioned the march and banned the rally, offering the HAK to rally its supporters near Matenadaran Museum Institute.

Speaking to A1+, Vahagn Hayotsyan said the municipality has refused HAK's bid for rallies for 100 times.

"We are going to stage the rally in the square despite the municipality's continuous rejections," said Hayotsyan.
