Will Obama utter the word “genocide?”
U.S. President Barack Obama will not utter the long-awaited word "genocide" in his April 24 statement, political analyst Ervand Bozoyan said on Monday.
Bozoyan says that after the signing of the "disgraceful" Armenian-Turkish Protocols no country seeks to be engaged in the process and share its stance on the Armenian issue.
Turkologist Ruben Melkonyan says that Obama will again choose the most suitable option and say "Mets Egern" (Great Massacre) in his speech.
During the presidential campaign in 2009, President Obama pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide but he used the expression "Mets Egern" in his speeches in 2009 and 2010.
