Penitentiary: “Samson Khachatryan’s condition is stable”
The Armenian National Congress today announced that ANC activist, well-known boxer Samson Khachatryan, who is at "Nubarashen" penitentiary, is in worse condition.
In response to "A1+"'s question, Head of the Public Relations Division of the Penitentiary Department at the RA Ministry of Justice Arsen Babayan said the following:
"This morning, the attorney of Samson Khachatryan, who is under preliminary arrest at "Nubarashen" penitentiary, informed the penitentiary chief that his client's condition had worsened.
The penitentiary's doctors examined S. Khachatryan and found out that the latter's condition was stable and that his health hadn't gotten worse. This was told to the lawyer who called other doctors, but they weren't allowed to examine Samson Khachatryan simply because the legislation prescribes specific rules for calling other experts to the penitentiary.
The lawyer and the mentioned doctors didn't follow the rules. They didn't present any adequate petition to enter the penitentiary and examine Khachatryan, which would have served as grounds to discuss the petition and take an adequate decision."
