Electric power production suspended in RA NPP
On April 3, electric power production was suspended at the second unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The reason for the suspension was routine maintenance, the press service of the RA Ministry of Energy reported.
"As per procedures of the NPP, routine maintenance is envisaged to be conducted at the nuke once a year," said Lusine Harutyunyan, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy.
Maintenance works will continue at the energy unit April 19. The nuke will resume its operation at full capacity after turbine condensers are cleaned.
