Armenian PM, Swiss President discuss perspectives of bilateral cooperation

On April 1, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received President of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey to discuss economic situation in Armenia and the perspectives of development.

At the request of the Swiss President, the Armenian Premier presented the measures taken by the Armenian Government towards mitigating the consequences of the global financial-economic crisis.

The interlocutors also referred to the process of reforms implemented in Armenia and the government's strategy of proportional territorial development.

The Armenian Prime Minister and the Swiss President emphasized the high-level bilateral relations and discussed the opportunities of economic cooperation.

They prioritized cooperation in the spheres of Information Technologies, education and agriculture. In the context of expansion of the Armenian-Swiss cooperation they also discussed the possibility of providing advisory assistance by Switzerland.

Tigran Sargsyan and Micheline Calmy-Rey dwelt on regional developments, as well.
