Tamamyan misused powers

Within the framework of the criminal case brought up on 10 January 2011 at the RA Special Investigative Service, former head of the chief department of criminal investigation of the RA Police, general-major H. Tamamyan was charged under Part 2, Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code ("Misuse of Official Powers"). An arrest was applied as a precautionary measure by the decision of the general jurisdiction court of Kentron and Nork-Marash districts.
The criminal case was brought up at the Special Investigative Service for officials' misuse of powers during the preliminary inquiry of a murder committed with illegal arms on Komitas Avenue in Yerevan that caused physical injuries. The case was brought up at the Arabkir investigative department, examined at the chief investigative department of the RA Police and is currently at the general jurisdiction court of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun districts.
The preliminary inquiry is in progress and further information will be provided.
