Today head of "Heritage" party's faction Styopa Safaryan sent a letter to Chairman of the RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan regarding Raffi Hovhannisian's "Fast for Freedom". The following is the letter in its entirety:

"Dear Mr. Abrahamyan,

On March 21, on the first day of the NA four-day sessions, in response to MP Victor Dallakyan's proposal on expressing a position on Raffi Hovhannisian's civil protest, you particularly announced: "I have just returned from my working visit to Great Britain. I have talked to head of the "Heritage" faction Styopa Safaryan and have tried to find out the purpose and Raffi Hovhannisian's objectives, but have not received any concrete response."

I am replying to your announcement due to leader of "Heritage" party Raffi Hovhannisian's civil protest called "Fast for Freedom" at Freedom Square.

Confirming our short telephone conversation on March 16, I must also remind you that in response to your question "what is the reason, what are the demands, what should we do", I responded by saying in particular: "On March 15, Raffi Hovhannisian delivered a 40-minute speech. During the March 13 wide-format session of "Heritage" party's council, he took the decision of 21 points and disseminated the whole texts to mass media outlets. I cannot reiterate those demands in a matter of minutes. With that said, it would be nice if you got acquainted with them and decide what should be done."

In your March 21 announcement, you affirmed that you still hadn't gotten acquainted and were unaware of the goals and the proposed objectives. With that said, I deem it necessary to provide you with the text of Raffi Hovhannisian's March 15 speech and the March 13 decision taken by the session of "Heritage" party's council. The 1st point of that decision states the following:

"The wide-format session of "Heritage" party's council declares that the state of emergency in the country presupposes extreme solutions and, falling in line with that and concerned with keeping the country from tumbling down, decides to 1. continue the struggle for the new, special and legitimate formation of the entire government from the podium of the National Assembly to the square."", as reported by the press service of "Heritage" party.
