Serzh Sargsyan: "We do not live with the past"
The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Armenia, Mrs. Diana Janse (seat in Tbilisi), presented her credentials to Serzh Sargsyan.
The interlocutors discussed Armenia-EU cooperation, Armenia-Turkey relations and Karabakh peace process.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to Sweden for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, underlining that the Armenian nation is grateful to all countries and peoples who not only respect the memory of the genocide victims, but also help prevent reoccurrence of genocides in the future.
"The sooner Turks acknowledge their past, the better for them and us. We do not live with the past, and a vivid proof of it was our initiative to establish relations with Turkey, which does not mean, however, that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide could ever become secondary for us," said Sargsyan.
