S. Sargsyan: “Welcome”
Serzh Sargsyan today received parliamentary speaker of the Republic of Croatia Luka Bebich.
Sargsyan mentioned that he cordially recalls his meeting with Mr. Bebich in Zagreb during his visit to Croatia in 2009 and is pleased to meet him again.
"I am pleased to see that our high-level contacts have been ongoing in the past two years. They help deepen our relations. Inter-parliamentary relations are of great significance for the strengthening of friendship between our countries and nations and the deepening of cooperation. It is important to establish friendship groups in both parliaments. I am certain that our deputies' visits will be periodical. Welcome to Armenia. You are here to see your friends and we are pleased," said Sargsyan during his meeting with the Croatian parliamentary speaker.
During the meeting, the sides attached importance to President of Croatia Ivo Yosipovich's visit to Armenia in 2011, which will bring a new sweep to the bilateral relations. The interlocutors shared the view that the visit of businessmen to Armenia and the contacts with Armenian businessmen will serve as a good opportunity for the development of economic cooperation and the increase of volumes of trade circulation between both countries. The sides viewed cooperation in culture, tourism infrastructures, including energy and a number of other spheres as perspective.
Sargsyan and Bebich also spoke about cooperation with the UE, regional issues, Armenian-Turkish relations and the process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution.
