NZhK Leader: “I am a hawk while Ter-Petrosyan is a dove”
A social riot is possible to burst out in Armenia, New Times Party (NZhK) Leader Aram Karapetyan told a news conference on March 14.
"In his recent statement Serzh Sargsyan admitted the possibility of a social riot. The statement shows that the Armenian President understands the seriousness of the situation," said the NZhK leader adding that the strained atmosphere is resulted by the grave socio-economic situation.
"The measures taken by the Central Bank and government are belated and will not correct the situation," Karapetyan noted.
Speaking about the 15 clauses presented by the opposition, the NZhK leader said that "the authorities will use some of the opposition's brilliant ideas, but will not resign office."
Aram Karapetyan divided Armenia into two wings -real and virtual. The latter is represented by the ruling authorities who believe that everything is splendid around them.
Karapetyan went further dividing the opposition into hawks and doves.
"I am a hawk, while Levon Ter-Petrosyan is a dove." He said.
"To succeed in its struggle the opposition needs to waken large masses of public, otherwise the authorities will never meet their demands," Karapetyan concluded.
