Charges filed against jailed opposition activist
On March 13, at 5 p.m., three Armenian citizens - Samson Khachatryan, Misak Hovakimyan and Poghos Krmzyan - were taken to the Police Department of Kentron District on suspicion of using violence against a representative of authorities, RA Police press service said.
On March 1, 2011, at about 6 p.m., at the intersection of Mashtots and Koryun Streets in Yerevan, Khachatryan disobeyed police orders, showing resistance and hitting а police officer.
"Khachatryan announced at the police station that he might have hit someone in the scuffle but couldn't say whom exactly. He was detained at 8:00p.m. the same day. The other two individuals were interrogated and released. An action has been filed under Article 3216 (Part 1) of the Armenian Criminal Code," said the police.
Investigation is in progress.
