Relatives of the Armenian political prisoners expect to see more people freed by the end of next week.
Today they staged another protest outside the Prosecutor General's Office calling for the release of the political prisoners and resignation of Serzh Sargsyan.

"European diplomats are due to arrive in Armenia next week. We expect them to be tougher in their demands," protester Sona Muradyan told A1+.

"I want to believe that the authorities understand the seriousness of the issue. Today, Armenia is facing serious external and internal challenges. The authorities should be wise enough to meet the opposition's demands," said board chairman of the Armenian National Movement (HHSh) Aram Manukyan.

"Our first demand is to release the political prisoners. I advise the authorities to discuss the opposition's demands as soon as possible. The number of discontent people is increasing and soon the authorities will be unable to control them. The authorities may, in that case, be unable to resist the escalating violence. If the authorities have a little bit of common sense they will meet the opposition's demands and think about possible mechanisms for the change of power," Manukyan said adding that the opposition's demands were not formal and cannot be ignored by the authorities.
