"The National Security Service should be dissolved, and the building should be given to the Museum of Contemporary Art," Heritage faction MP Zaruhi Postanjyan said during today's protest outside the NSS building.

The protesters called for the release of Postanjyan's brother and demanded the authorities to drop charges against him. Holding the photos of Serzh Sargsyan, Aghvan Hovsepyan and Gorik Hakobyan, they shouted, "You cannot scarce us," "NSS serves the authorities' interests."

Speaking to journalists Zaruhi Postanjyan said she had been forbidden to see her brother who was taken to the Nubarashen penitentiary from the NSS.

"Everybody is aware of the miserable conditions of this prison, let alone criminality and overcrowding. They were unable to pressurize my brother and were forced to transferred him to Nubarashen," she said adding that the Prosecutor General and NSS concocted charges against her brother to keep him behind bars.

Three Heritage MPs and the lawyer have been allowed to meet Tigran Postanjyan.

On February 18, a case was filed against Tigran Postanjian, a leading specialist in Yerevan's Arabkir district, for receiving AMD 100,000 (about $274 US) remuneration for turning a blind eye to illegal construction done in his district. On February 25, Tigran Postanjyan was called to the National Security Service for questioning where he was taken under arrest.

Zaruhi Postanjian denounced the case as baseless and politically motivated and said it was a coordinated attack against her and Heritage.

She believes that her brother is a hostage in the hands of authorities who want to indirectly exert pressure on her.
