Passionate dance on the chair
On March 10, Yerevan's Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall hosted a concert of virtuoso accordionist Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi and Armenia's State Youth Orchestra, conducted by Sergey Smbatyan and Italian conductor Roberto Molinelli. The concert was dedicated to the 90th birth anniversary of legendary Astor Piazzolla.
Pietrodarchi turned the charming melodies of Nino Rota and the boisterous tango of Astor Piazzolla into a passionate dance on the chair.
The audience intently watched the movements of accordionist Mario Stefano and the talking hands of conductor Roberto Molinelli and tacitly acknowledged the omnipotence of the musical palette.
The concert premiered compositions of Roberto Molinelli and Antonella Barbarossa.
It was Pietrodarchi's forth visit to Armenia. Both Pietrodarchi and Molinelli spoke about the Armenian audience with deep admiration and expressed great satisfaction over the Armenian State Youth Orchestra.
