On the sidelines of his visit to Belgium Armenia's Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan met with Miroslav Lajcak, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in EU European External Action Service, and Gunnar Wiegand, head of the European Commission's Unit for Relations with Russia, acting director for Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus, and Central Asia in the Commission's Directorate-General for External Relations.

The sides discussed issues related to the regional security and peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

Seyran Ohanyan condemned Azerbaijan's provocations on the Line of Contact following the agreement signed between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents on March 5.

According to the Armenian official, the number of victims increases as a result of Azerbaijan's irresponsible statements.

The EU officials stressed the importance of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and pledged to assist the sides in creating an atmosphere of mutual confidence.
