On March 4, Serzh Sargsyan invited a consultation to discuss the issues of Lake Sevan. Present at the meeting were members of the Sevan Commission and heads of relevant state bodies.
Head of the Sevan Commission Vladimir Movsisyan presented the implementation of tasks assigned by the Armenian President in 2010, and the plan for 2011.
According to Movsisyan, events planned in 2010 were implemented in full and in the preset time-frame. Minister of Nature Protection Armen Harutyunian reported on the shore cleaning works.
The President noted that the Commission has accomplished a considerable amount of works in the past two years, the pace of addressing the existing problems remains slow. Sargsyan stressed that the accomplished works and results, which so far remain noticeable only for experts, should be observable for anyone who visits the Lake.
He also gave directives to the Commission, Ministers of Nature Protection, Transport and Communication, the Governor of Gegharkunik marz and the Head of the State Cadastre Committee.
