K. Piloyan, a senior prosecutor of the RA General Prosecutor's Office, refused the complaint filed by the attorneys of former Armenian parliamentarian Khachatur Sukiasyan. The attorneys demanded to stop the criminal persecution of the outspoken deputy based on the lack of corpus delicti.

The prosecution's decision to quash the complaint of February 14, 2011, is dated August 27, 2008.

"We consider the prosecutor's decision to be unlawful and ungrounded and we are going to appeal it in court," the attorneys said a statement on Friday.

"The decision has an abstract character and does not provide any evidence obtained through the criminal case. The inaccuracy of the date proves that the prosecution treated our complaint superficially and made a standard decision.

Khachatur Sukiasyan went into hiding after being charged with "organizing mass disorder" during the 2008 post-election protests. He later turned himself in to law enforcement bodies, but was recently declared not guilty due to lack of evidence.
