“Co-Chairs have to stop”
There will be no document signed during the Serzh Sargsyan-Ilham Aliyev meeting scheduled to take place in Sochi on March 5, says chairperson of the NA standing committee on Euro-integration Naira Zohrabyan.
"I don't think a document will be signed in Sochi, taking into consideration the fact that Azerbaijan still has a destructive position in the process of negotiations," Mrs. Zohrabyan told "A1+".
Zohrabyan also believes the negotiations are very important for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. "It is time for the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to stop making announcements that are not addressed to anyone. For instance, they call on the sides to refrain from making belligerent declarations. The Co-Chairs have to give clear formulations because everyone knows which side is persistently refusing to remove marksmen from the line of contact, increasing its military budget and making war threats through the primary figures of the political elite."
According to Mrs. Zohrabyan, if the Minsk Group Co-Chairs are truly interested in the peaceful resolution of the conflict, their message should be addressed to Azerbaijan's political elite.
"As a citizen of Armenia, I expect to see a turning point in the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs' announcements," said Zohrabyan.
