Possible to come out of labyrinth?
Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University, turkologist Ruben Melkonyan says Armenian-Turkish relations are in a labyrinth and there is no expectation for progress at the moment.
"There will not be development in Turkey based on the developments," says the turkologist.
According to him, only after the parliamentary elections in Turkey will it be possible to predict developments in relation to Armenian-Turkish relations.
The turkologist says Turkey's actions are still of a declarative nature or an imitation and they are foreseen to take place ahead of April 24.
"But they can't be a moving force," says Ruben Melkonyan.
The turkologist places the issue of whether U.S. President Barack Obama will pronounce the word "Armenian Genocide" or not on April 24 as secondary and says Obama will use the term "Mets Yeghern" (Great Catastrophe) once again.
