Former political prisoners support Zaruhi Postanjyan
Armenia's former political prisoners have issued a statement expressing support for Armenian parliamentarian Zaruhi Postanjyan.
"We, the former political prisoners of Armenia, who were cast into prison for their political views, felt the support and attention of Zaruhi Postanjyan throughout our prison terms.
Zaruhi Postanjyan was among the few parliamentarians who used to visit us in prison.
Through the arrest of Postanjyan's brother, the acting authorities are attempting to pressurize and silence the outspoken parliamentarian. We condemn the chase against Mrs. Postanjyan and express our support for her. We are convinced that with her typical resoluteness and vigor Postanjyan will be able to surmount this ordeal," reads the statement.
