“Strengthened through Semneby’s efforts”
Serzh Sargsyan today received EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby who is in Armenia on a farewell visit.
Sargsyan expressed high appreciation of Peter Semneby's contribution to the strengthening of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union.
"I believe that our relations and the political dialogue strengthened through your efforts ever since you took the mandate of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus," said the head of state.
The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus expressed gratitude to President Sargsyan for praising his efforts and mentioned that he has had efficient meetings with Serzh Sargsyan in the past five years of his term.
Among his activities implemented in the past five years, Peter Semneby attached importance to the May 2009 decision on the inauguration of talks on the Association Agreement with all three countries of the South Caucasus, which, according to him, is a document that predetermines the future of Armenia on the path toward Euro-integration.
