Armenians express their dissatisfaction by leaving the country
On February 18, Heritage Party offered the opposition parties - Armenian National Congress (HAK), and Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun - (ARFD) to develop a joint action plan and mobilize the opposition field.
Chairman of Heritage faction Stepan Safaryan says the opposition should not follow the example of the coalition government and create a pyramid; rather, it should attempt to draw public attention to the issues raised by opposition forces.
"Egypt has set an excellent example for us. In Egypt, opposition forces united and made a real coup d'état without a leader," said Safaryan.
According to Stepan Safaryan the opposition should elaborate such an agenda that will be able to address all public concerns.
To A1+'s question that HAK has also called for the opposition's consolidation, the Heritage representative said "Heritage would not have come forward with the initiative if the party found HAK's proposals satisfactory."
Asked whether the opposition's unification is possible given the differences between HAK and ARFD, Stepan Safaryan said HAK and Heritage are also in disagreement but variances should not affect their plans.
"If we seek to change the future of the country, there is no alternative to consolidation. We must put aside our ideological differences and unite for the sake of our motherland," he said.
"Unfortunately, the Armenian society expresses its dissatisfaction with the authorities by leaving the country," Safaryan concluded.
