Maxim Vengerov arrives in Yerevan

World-famous violin virtuoso and conductor Maxim Vengerov will give his first performance in Yerevan on February 22.

The maestro will visit Yerevan at the invitation of Armenian State Youth Orchestra and Ministry of Culture.
Polish violinist, Arman Khachaturian international competition laureate Jaroslaw Nadrzycki will also perform at the concert.

"But for the Soviet Union and its cultural policy, the world would not talented musicians like Vadim Repin, Evgeny Kissin, Boris Berezovsky and me," Grammy award winner Maxim Vengerov told reporters in Yerevan on February 18.

The conductor got familiarized with the Armenian culture through his Armenian friends. He has many friends among young Armenian musicians, including pianist Vahagn Papyan
"I have traveled with these people a lot, so I consider myself to be Armenian by one quarter," said Vengerov.

According to the virtuoso, music is a unique language capable of conveying feelings without words.
