Armenia’s position is conventional
On February 17, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan met with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi who is in Yerevan on an official visit.
During the meeting, the process of implementation of agreements reached between the heads of both states, as well as the opportunities for further expansion of spheres of cooperation and including new ones were discussed.
The Armenian and Chinese foreign ministers attached importance to the periodic character of high-level contacts between both countries and expressed certainty that those contacts will bring a new sweep to further development and deepening of relations.
The sides discussed a broad range of international issues in detail.
In the subtext of discussion on regional issues, Minister Nalbandyan presented his Chinese counterpart with the latest developments of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution and mentioned that Armenia highly appreciates China's balanced position on the conflict resolution.
In his turn, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for Armenia's conventional position on "One China".
Edward Nalbandyan and Yang Jiechi attached importance to taking steps aimed at developing cooperation in the economic sphere and addressed the preparations for the 6th session of the Armenian-Chinese inter-governmental commission.
Edward Nalbandyan expressed gratitude for the Chinese government's ongoing technical support, which will help provide nearly 80 ambulance trucks this year.
The ministers discussed in detail issues related to activating consultations between the Armenian and Chinese Ministries of Foreign Affairs and strengthening cooperation between both countries within international organizations, as reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
