FM at Mother See
On February 17, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Yang Jiechi at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the conversation, His Holiness touched upon with content on the high-level visits between both states, as well as the cultural and economic partnership for the benefit of both nations. The Supreme Patriarch also spoke about historical ties between the Chinese and the Armenians, as well as attached importance to the strengthening of friendship between nations and the persistent development to overcome general challenges.
In his turn, the Chinese Foreign Minister expressed joy for the opportunity to visit Armenia and the spiritual center of all Armenians and recognize the centuries-old Armenian culture. He presented the current relations between both countries and the beneficial cooperation, as well as indicated the need for deepening cultural ties.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the need for Armenian Genocide recognition and condemnation, which will prevent the repetition of such a crime in the future. Importance was also attached to the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
