The "People's Party" today held an open-air assembly near the Matenadaran. The party had addressed the administration of the Karen Demirchyan Sport-Concert Complex to hold the assembly there, but the administration demanded 10 million drams.

Tigran Karapetyan announced that the opposition and the authorities have started a huge campaign against him.

"They are distributing flyers and discrediting. They say Karapetyan should leave the people and join the HAK," said Karapetyan and asked the gathered whether they are in favor of that, to which few replied "no".

In the beginning of the short assembly, the party presented a public requisition to Serzh Sargsyan and announced that if the party doesn't receive a written response and doesn't see the fulfillment of at least half of the demands, it will present a final notice.

In the requisition, the party calls on the authorities, particularly Serzh Sargsyan to release political dissidents, exclude handing Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan and prohibiting the entrance of Western peacekeeping forces in the region.

After the assembly, Tigran Karapetyan denied rumors that he recently had a meeting with Gagik Tsarukyan. "I don't meet with the coalition parties at all and the last time I saw Gagik Tsarukyan was a year ago," said Karapetyan. He viewed such rumors as one of the opposition's steps and mentioned that he is fighting against the authorities, not the HAK.
