Demanding death penalty
Iranian parliamentarians have made calls for sentencing opposition leaders to death. As reported by the BBC, 180 MPs today demanded a death penalty for opposition leaders Mirhosein Musavi and Mehdi Karubi.
The MPs are accusing the opposition leaders of attempting to destroy the country's national security.
Musavi and Karubi are currently under house arrest for calling on Iranians to unite and support the revolution in Egypt.
Iranian parliamentary speaker Ali Larijan has demanded the creation of a special committee, which will develop measures for the fight against disturbances on the streets of Tehran.
Let us mention that the February 14 clash between demonstrators and the police in Tehran left one dead and nine injured.
