Police are intimidating drivers and impeding the protest in Vanadzor, as reported by the "Heritage" Party's central office.

The non-massive protest organized by the drivers with Georgian state license numbers was supposed to start a short while ago with the participation of "Heritage" Party representatives.

However, "Heritage" MP Stepan Safaryan, who is currently on the Gyumri-Vanadzor road, informed that RA police officers are impeding the protest.

Tens of police have blocked the march of cars coming from Gyumri to Vanadzor near Jajur village, as well as cars coming from Tashir and Stepanavan.

"Heritage" MP Armen Martirosyan, who is in Vanadzor, informs that contrary to the bad weather (it is heavily snowing), there are already over 50 cars at Aznavour Square. However, the police are approaching the drivers and forcing them to leave the square.

The drivers leave with their cars, but return to Aznavour Square by foot. Currently, there are up to 100 citizens at the square.

"Heritage" MP Zaruhi Postanjyan has informed the Ombudsman's Office about the illegal and anti-constitutional rights of the police and has tried to contact RA Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan, but in vain. Postanjyan received an answer from the Chief of Police's office correspondent Poghosyan. The MP demanded that the correspondent tell the Chief of Police to take immediate measures to call the police to order.

"Heritage" Party strictly condemns the anti-constitutional working style of the police and demands that the RA Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan take immediate measures to put an end to the illegal acts and bring the police to justice.
