“The best thing to do is to strive toward the goal”
"Armenia should eliminate political monopoly during the next elections," Armenia's former Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said during a discussion organized by Civilitas Foundation.
Noting that the Internet is actively growing in Armenia, Oskanian said that genuine changes in the information sphere will take another 8-10 years.
"We should understand which sphere needs to be changed - political or information. In fact, they are interwoven and should be changed simultaneously," he stressed.
"Today the authorities enjoy political monopoly and dictate their will to the media," he said.
Mr. Oskanian is convinced that the civil society should be consistent in order to have things changed during the next elections.
"If the counterbalance is preserved, the next elections will bring changes in the country."
