"Armenia rejects Turkey's blackmailing policy and fundamentally strips the idea of Neo-Ottomanism. Armenia reaffirms that it will make more efforts for international recognition of the Armenian Genocide," HHK (Republican Party of Armenia) faction secretary Eduard Sharmazanov announced in parliament today.

According to him, the Azerbaijani-Turkish "20 percent" fairy tale is heard at different platforms, but the reality is the following according to Sharmazanov:

"Turkey is a country that took over Armenians' historical land and the Greeks' historical land of Pontos. It is the only country striving for EU integration and keeping its neighboring country in a blockade. Azerbaijan occupied a number of regions of the NKR through Turkey's financial assistance."

Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Sharmazanov brought up the example of the referendum in South Sudan, which showed that the campaign for exercising the right to self-determination continues.

"Even after that, Azerbaijan ignores the norm of international law and interprets the right to self-determination in its own way, saying that self-determination can only be within Azerbaijan. If the Azerbaijani have a great desire to grant self-determination, they have great opportunities and can grant self-determination to the talishs and the lezgis. Artsakh has never had any connection to Azerbaijan," announced the HHK MP.
