Plane successfully lands in Cyprus after making emergency landing
On February 6, a plane heading from Yerevan to Cyprus made an emergency landing at Zvartnots Airport after hovering in the sky for 30 minutes.
Armenian football players and members of the Executive Committee of Armenian Football Federation (AFF) headed by AFF President Ruben Hayrapetyan were aboard the plane.
The team was leaving for Cyprus to compete with their Georgian counterparts.
"The crew members were forced to return to Zvartnots after discovering some technical problems," Nelly Cherchinyan, a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Department of Armenia, told A1+.
After eliminating the technical fault, the plane successfully landed in Cyprus.
The friendly meeting between Armenian and Georgian football teams is set for February 9.
