Secret forces fuel Egyptian unrest
There are certain forces, most likely Islamic radical forces, that continually fuel the Egyptian unrest, says Chairman of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh) Aram Manukyan.
The Arabic countries have many similarities, that is why the revolutionary moods have spread to the other countries as well.
"Tunisian authorities were wise enough to resign in time otherwise the country would have reached an impasse. The situation is more strained in Egypt and may lead to a civil war. Mubarak is merely marking time to decide the issue of his successor. The country had better take the path of democracy and give up extreme Islamic beliefs. Deceleration may further aggravate the country's social situation," said Manukyan.
Drawing parallels between Egypt and Armenia, the HHSh Board Chairman noted that the anti-government protests in both counties had different motivations.
"In Armenia political factors prevail over social ones. People struggle to free political prisoners, disclose the murderers of post-election clashes on March 2008 and restore human rights. Anyway, it is not excluded that people may rebel against continually deteriorating social conditions," he concluded.
