Serzh Sargsyan headed and was reelected
The Chess Federation of Armenia held a conference at the Chess Home after Tigran Petrosyan headed by RA President, President of the Chess Federation of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Within the framework of the congress agenda, the Federation presented the activities in 2009 and 2010 and the reports of the auditing committee, predetermined the main directions for activities in 2011 and 2012 and held elections for president and the presidency. The Federation's activities in the period under review were rated as satisfactory.
RA President Serzh Sargsyan was reelected President of the Chess Federation of Armenia and 64 members were elected for the presidency.
The election was followed by an award ceremony for winners of the highest group tournament of the Armenian championship. President Serzh Sargsyan handed awards to 2011 Armenian champion Robert Hovhannisyan, second and third place winners Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Zaven Andriasyan.
The conference was followed by the first session of the newly elected presidency. The presidency approved the candidates for vice-president, executive director and general secretary who, according to the Federation's charter, are part of the Federation's board. Smbat Lputyan is first vice-president, while Yuri Arustamyan, Gagik Gevorgyan, Hovik Khalikyan, Levon Yolyan, Tigran Sargsyan, Ashot Vardapetyan are vice-presidents, Hrachik Tavadyan is the manager and Gagik Hovhannisyan is the general secretary.
The committees and the presidents of the committees were also confirmed during the session.
