BHK member of the Armenian delegation to the PACE Naira Zohrabyan believes that the way things are going, Armenia will have to call back its signature from the Armenia-Turkey Protocols.

After a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu within the framework of the PACE Winter Sitting and receiving responses to her questions, Naira Zohrabyan has come to the conclusion that "Turkey's political leaders proved that the Turkish political elite's mindset has remained unchanged."

"Armenia is dealing with a country that is not ready to be guided by democratic values and show courage to confront the historical facts and realities."

Naira Zohrabyan recalled that the Turkish President and the Foreign Minister apparently affirmed that they link Turkish-Armenian relations with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. In response to the question on Armenian Genocide recognition, Gul replied that Turkey is ready to create a historical commission and open the archives and that it will agree with any conclusion, but until then it will not accept the term "genocide".

"I think the way things are going, Armenia will call back its signature," said Naira Zohrabyan, recalling Serzh Sargsyan's statement on freezing the Armenian-Turkish relations and the warning that the Armenian side will call back its signature in case things continue like this.
