70 tons of salt didn't help
Although it took at least two hours to get from the outskirts to central Yerevan, the press service of the municipality assures that streets and sidewalks of all districts are being cleaned.
According to the press release, out of the 270 pieces of equipment foreseen for cleaning the snow, only 35 are being used for wiping the snow, as well as spraying salt and sand and there will be more equipment provided in case of need.
All districts of Yerevan have the necessary amount of salt and sand (1,300 tons of salt, 2,200 cubic meters of sand) and there will be more. Currently, the municipality has used approximately 70 tons of salt and nearly 160 cubic meters of sand to clean the streets and sidewalks.
Cleaning continues in all districts, especially the higher areas of the city, as stated in the press release.
