“How will we maintain our families?”
"We took loans for trade. How are we going to pay them off and maintain our families?" say street traders. They organized another action in front of the municipality today to protest the mayor's decision to prohibit street trade.
The protesters called on a municipality representative to come out and answer their questions, but nobody showed up. The only person who came out and heard the protesters was the representative of the municipality's news department.
According to the protesters, they were not given an adequate alternative and the versions were unacceptable.
Those involved in street trade have been holding protests for four days with the demand to have their voices heard after the demolition of open-air trade spots.
