Two Armenian soldiers wounded at contact line
Azerbaijan continues to violate ceasefire along the line of contact between the Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces.
On January 9-15, Azerbaijan fired 550 shots at NKR positions, aiming fire in the direction of Hadrut, Martuni, Askeran and Martakert. The most intense fire was recorded in the south-eastern section (Martuni) of the contact line on January 14 when Azerbaijani forces wounded Armenian private Vardan Harutyunyan, 19, in the left collar-bone.
Another Armenian serviceman, Murad Aslanyan, was wounded in the left hand on January 15, as a result of similar gunfire shot in the eastern section (Askeran) of the contact line.
The two soldiers were hospitalized. Their condition is reported to be satisfactory.
According to official data, Azerbaijan fired over 1,000 shots during the first half of January.
