Gevorg Kostanyan appointed military prosecutor
Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree on appointing his assistant Gevorg Kostanyan RA Military Prosecutor, Deputy Prosecutor General to replace Armen Khachaturyan.
Gevorg Kostanyan, 33, is also Armenia's Representative to the European Court of Human Rights.
RA Deputy Minister of Justice Emil Babayan is a contender for the vacant office of the president's assistant after Gevorg Kostanyan.
According to our sources, Babayan and Kostanyan are friends and Gevorg Kostanyan "never leaves his friend behind" when it comes time for promotion.
It is assumed that if Babayan holds office at the presidential residence, Gevorg Kostanyan will be able to continue to use his previous office for his benefit.
The new deputy justice minister will also be from the same circle and the top contender is one of the heads of the departments at the RA Ministry of Justice.
