Residents are passive
Members of the "We are the owners of this city" environmental initiative today visited the former territory of the "Children's Development Center" State Non-Commercial Organization of the RA Police located on 104 Nalbandyan Street.
Let us remind that by the 18 March 2010 decision, the territory was alienated through a sale to "Avag Shin" LTD for construction of an elite building. The kindergarten of the RA Police will be stationed there once again after construction.
According to members of the initiative, they want to see what is going on in that territory and whether the trees have been cut down.
"A large part of the building has already been destroyed and 15 trees have been cut down, but residents are not as active as they were during the construction and deforestation going on at the "Vishapi Kotoghner" park. Some of them are even for the construction of a 16-story building there," active member of the initiative Lusine Bekaryan told "A1+".
Member Vahram Soghomonyan assured that the deforestation is whimsical. "They are being illegally cut down. If the residents are willing, we are ready to help."
The members of the "We are the owners of this city" initiative have already formed a group of young architects to discuss the issue of building an elite building near the former kindergarten and the residential buildings.
"Our position and that of the architects is to only have a resort there. The construction of an elite building goes against the principles of urbanization," said Vahram Soghomonyan.
