Patriarch donated wine

Representatives of the Georgian-Armenian community visited the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church under leadership of leader of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Hrach Silvanyan.

They were greeted by inter-church relations correspondent of the Georgian Church Gerasim Mitropolit and accompanied to the official reception hall of the Patriarchate, as reported by the press divan of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia.

According to a press release, His Holiness Ilia II warmly received the Georgian-Armenian delegation and congratulated the Armenian people and the Armenian Church, the Catholicos of All Armenians and the RA President on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas on behalf of the Georgian Church.

Patriarch Ilia donated wine from the Patriarchate's wine cellar with the hope that His Holiness Karekin II will visit Georgia this year. The Patriarch also said he is ready to warmly receive the Catholicos of All Armenians and reaffirm the ancient friendship between the Armenian and Georgian Churches.
