HAK expresses condolences on death of Anahit Bayandur

The Armenian National Congress (HAK) expresses condolences on the death of translator Anahit Bayandur.

"Anahit Bayandur was an experienced translator, a great political and public figure, a participant of the Karabakh movement, deputy at the Supreme Council of Armenia from 1990 to 1995, coordinator of HCA Armenian Committee. She worked with zeal and self-oblivion in all spheres. She will be remembered forever," reads a HAK statement.

Anahit Bayandur died on January 7, 2011 at the age of 71.
Armenian modern literature became known to the world due to her translations.

In 1992, Anahit Bayandur won the prestigious award named after Olof Palme.
