What foreigners didn’t do
Statement by the HAK (Armenian National Congress)
Despite the society's impetuous reaction, the RA National Assembly went ahead and adopted the changes in the laws "On Public Education" and "On Language", paving the way for public education in foreign languages in Armenia.
When the initiative was first declared, the HAK expressed its principled position by registering its damage to the national identity and danger in the social sense.
What the "national" government is doing today is what foreign rulers were doing and couldn't digest hundreds of years ago. With this, the government is reaffirming that the "national" bandit regime is much more destructive compared to any type of foreign government. By adopting the abovementioned laws, the powers represented in parliament proved that they are anti-political and anti-national and it especially refers to the Republican Party of Armenia, which declares that it agrees with Nzhdeh's ideology and yet stomped over the forefather of its ideology.
This illegitimate regime of Kocharyan and Serzh added another issue on the agenda of the future legitimate and political authorities and the solution to this issue will be of primary concern since education in the native language is one of the pillars of a state.
