NA needs a psychiatrist?
The National Assembly ended today the discussion on the draft law on making additions to the laws "On Language" and "On Public Education".
"Don't give speeches as false patriots," Republican MP Galust Sahakyan told those against the opening of foreign language schools at the National Assembly.
He assured the MPs that Armenia will not lose anything with the opening of 11 foreign language schools.
Galust Sahakyan also reminded that the National Assembly itself formed the government. "They say the government imposes laws on us. If I am here or in government, what difference does it make?"
Sahakyan added that there are people who keep saying the same things and if things continue at this rate, it will be necessary to change the NA charter and have a psychiatrist attend the session as well.
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan also gave a closing speech and tried to be softer when speaking to those against the law. He also thanked the sincere criticism.
Armen Ashotyan especially touched upon Tigran Torosyan's announcement according to which the opening of foreign language schools was proposed from abroad and the Prime Minister accepted it. "I am addressing not only Tigran Torosyan, but all oppositionists. They would have praised this law so much two years ago."
According to Ashotyan, 75% of the people are not against having 11 foreign language schools in Armenia. In the end, the Minister called on the MPs to vote for the draft law.
